A ReFLECtive, creative and holistic thinker
In an age which seems more fearful of the future, we are directed to give an account of the hope that is within us. (1 Peter 3:15)
Using the See, Judge, Act, Evaluate method to deal with moral dilemmas is a good base for helping students “think reflectively and creatively to evaluate situations and solve problems” (CGE3c) as well as “make decisions in light of gospel values with an informed moral conscience” (CGE3d). By taking the time to stop and reflect on situations, we look towards the teachings of the gospel values. Parables that Jesus used to teach moral values in biblical times are also relevant for the people of today and therefore can help us deal with our problems. The moral issues reflection focuses on the issues of stealing but there are many others, of course, which students must consider in a reflective manner. As the song above says, we ask God to open our eyes and hearts to help us follow in the footsteps of Jesus and ask ourselves "What would Jesus do?" when we are confronted with moral conflicts.
